№ 01 — THE ACADEMY

The Academy

Courses on what otherwise takes years to pick up by accident.

  the method

Show the machine, then the commands.

Two subjects to begin with — git, then design patterns. Each animated end to end, built from the internals up, and taught with nothing skipped. A short list on purpose: better to finish one properly than announce six.

№ 02the method

See it, then use it.

Why animation, and not another stack of slides.

Every one of these subjects is mostly invisible. A commit graph rewriting itself, the moment one class quietly takes on a second job, the dependency that points the wrong way — none of it is something you can point at on screen. The usual course describes it in prose and hopes the picture forms. These draw the picture.

01

Animated, not illustrated — the diagram moves because the thing it stands for moves. You watch a rebase replay commit by commit instead of reading a paragraph about what rebase does.

02

Internals first — objects and refs before commands; the problem before the pattern that answers it. Once you can see the machine, its moves stop being spells to memorize.

03

Nothing skipped — the awkward middle, where most courses thin out to a link and a shrug, is the part worth paying for. It gets the most time, not the least.

The courses

One in preparation, one planned — neither of them shipped.

01

Git in Motion

In preparation

The git course that shows its work — every concept animated, every step explained.

  • Under the hood — how git actually works: objects, refs and the commit graph, so its commands stop being spells to memorize.
  • First commit to last resort — branching, rebase, reflog and recovery. Comprehensive, with nothing assumed.

Design Patterns

Planned

The patterns worth knowing — and the ones worth refusing — each one drawn from the problem that produced it.

Why one is longer

The Git course is described in detail because it’s the only one far enough along to describe honestly. Design Patterns is a name and an intent — not yet written up. You’ll see it fill in.
